My Journey

20+ years leading enterprise systems across public service, healthcare, and financial services. A stroke in 2023 led me to AI—and a new chapter I'm ready to bring to the right team.

AI Research & Recovery Journey

2023 - Present | Exploring the evolving AI ecosystem

A New Chapter: From Stroke Recovery to AI Innovation

In 2023, following a life-altering stroke, I discovered AI's transformative potential not just as a technology, but as an assistive tool that became essential to my recovery. Having lost use of my left hand, I could no longer code traditionally. This forced me to adapt by using speech-to-text dictation combined with AI assistance—and unexpectedly made me a better developer. Typing slower meant thinking deeper. Speaking code meant communicating clearer. While I might not be able to type as fast as before, I can definitely write code, correspondence, and communicate with peers far more effectively than ever. This experience revealed accessibility gaps that technology could bridge, and sparked a deep commitment to building solutions that help others. My recovery journey continues today—always recovering, always working—and this ongoing experience keeps me grounded in building technology that truly serves real human needs.

What began as a personal necessity evolved into deep expertise: understanding how AI systems work, their capabilities and limitations, and how they can be leveraged to make workflows more accessible and efficient. With 20+ years of enterprise technology experience and firsthand knowledge of AI as assistive technology, I'm now looking for the right team where I can contribute that combination of experience and perspective.

2026

AI Research & Independent Development

Present Focus

Deep research into multimodal models, agentic workflows, and enterprise AI architecture. Building personal projects that span AI/ML pipelines, full-stack applications, and accessible tooling. Focused on creating technology that bridges accessibility gaps and demonstrates real, practical value—and actively seeking a role where I can bring this experience to a team.

2025

Advanced Model Research & Application Development

Hands-On Development

Intensive study of transformer architectures, prompt engineering methodologies, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems. Experimentation with Claude, GPT-4, and open-source models. Development of custom applications leveraging LLM APIs and fine-tuning techniques.—building a deep understanding of what makes modern AI systems work, and equally important, where they fall short.

2024

Deep Dive into LLM Capabilities & Limitations

Model Evaluation & Comparison

Systematic evaluation of different language models, studying their architectures, training methodologies, and practical applications. Research into AI safety, alignment, and ethical considerations. Exploration of AI workflow automation and integration patterns.

2023

AI as Assistive Technology

Recovery & Discovery

Following stroke, lost use of left hand which made traditional coding impossible. Adapted by using speech-to-text dictation combined with AI assistance (ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools), which not only compensated for the physical limitation but actually improved coding quality, correspondence, and peer communication. While typing speed decreased, the ability to write better code faster increased significantly. Profound recognition of AI's potential to bridge accessibility gaps, transform human-computer interaction, and serve as an equalizing force for those facing physical or cognitive challenges. This firsthand experience became the foundation for building technology that truly serves human needs.
